I’ve posted some of these individual birds before, but have finally finished the whole image… and here it is. I think of these birds as fiery phoenix, circling around the woman’s head like souls or spirits, or maybe thoughts and ideas. Either way, they are waiting to take shape in this world.
I originally expected the birds to be part of a much larger flock, with maybe 40 or 50 flying around. But I decided that for what I was trying to do here, that was unnecessary. Maybe someday soon I will have my full flock flying around though.
This picture is part of a very large project that I’ll probably be working on for some time. I’ll keep posting my progress. In the mean time, enjoy!
